Anker Recalls 3 Battery Products that Could Potentially Overheat, Causing Fire Hazards

If you've purchased an Anker power bank or external battery in recent years, it's a good idea to check online to see if it has been recalled. Anker has issued a recall for three more products due to certain manufacturing issues:

  • Anker 334 MagGo Battery (PowerCore 10K), Model: A1642
  • Anker Power Bank (20,000mAh, 22.5W, Built-In USB-C Cable), Model: A1647
  • Anker MagGo Power Bank (10,000mAh, 7.5W, Stand), Model: A1652

You can enter your device's serial number on Anker's recall page to confirm if your power bank is affected. The recall is due to a manufacturing defect that could cause the lithium-ion battery to overheat, potentially leading to melting plastic, smoke, or even fire.

Although only a small number of devices may actually overheat, Anker is recalling all units of the affected models for safety reasons. The company advises against returning the recalled items by mail or through carriers like UPS or Amazon, and you should not dispose of them in regular garbage, recycling, or battery bins. Instead, Anker recommends keeping them in a safe location and taking them to a facility that specifically handles lithium-ion battery disposal.
